119-122: More Scrabble Tile Jewelry December 27, 2010

It’s been hard to wait on posting these, but they were ordered as Christmas gifts from a friend at work….so I couldn’t risk ruining the surprise.

Some of these were designed using My Digital Studio images in Photoshop, and others were made from photos supplied by the customer.  I just love how these can be customized for ANYONE or anything.

Be sure to contact me if you are interested in ordering one….I can literally put just about anything on these tiles.  The price for a tile pendant or charm is $8 (which includes shipping anywhere in U.S.)  If you want it personalized with a name, a specific image or photo the cost is $10 per tile (including shipping anywhere in the U.S.).

The $8 charms are any of the ones you see in this or other posts that do not have personalized words or photos on them…… Just contact me and I will send you a paypal invoice!!

It looks like the damask charm might be showing up too dark on some monitors 😦  In person it is a really pretty gray background with a black damsk image in the center….Looks great with any outfit!!

Hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas!!!

Projects 25-27: Catalog Sneak Peak June 14, 2010

I have a treat for you today!!!  I have created 3 cards for you and they are ALL taken from the pages of the brand new 2010-2011 Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalog set to release on July 1, 2010.  If you have not yet ordered your catalog be sure to send me an email at  I am charging $9 for the catalog and this includes PRIORITY mailing, so really you are only paying $3-4 for you catalog (that’s less than I pay for them, but I do this in the hope that you will also choose me as your demonstrator for your purchases from the catalog.)  I will be mailing these out the same day I receive my stock of them (expected to be here 1 1/2 to 2 weeks from now). So order early as I did not order that many catalogs….remember….I’m the broke crafter 🙂  After my initial stock is gone you can still order catalogs, but at the normal SU price of $9.95 plus shipping.

I am also very happy to announce that my blog has been live for 1 month, and as of today I have passed 2,000 views…I’ll take that as a sign that I am doing something right 🙂  Now if I can just find some people in the area to hold workshops so I can sell some stuff the world would be a happy place.  Please contact me if you would like to hold a workshop or class in your home, and you live within a 1-2 hour drive of Milwaukee.  I can teach technique classes for a per person fee, which includes everyone completing the project and taking it home with them, or if you live less than 1 hour from Milwaukee we can do the traditional workshop where you gather a group of friends to make a couple simple cards, and browse the catalog (no per person fee, and the hostess receives FREE stuff based on the amount of sales at the party).  I also hold classes where you get to complete 12 cards or several scrapbook pages, and just pay a fee (this way people are not expected to browse the catalogs and buy stuff, they just get to hang out with friends, and make some really cool stuff.)  Just email me if any of these ideas sound interesting to you!! (thats zero-two-zero) or just post a comment below with your email and I will contact you.

Stampin Betty

Project 18 of 365: Elegant Friends June 5, 2010

Yesterday my blog hit its first milestone…..The StampinBetty blog has exceeded 1000 visitors!  Wow!!!  I’m a bit stunned, and I am so incredibly motivated to keep up with my challenge of completing 365 Stampin’ Up! projects in 365 days.

Nothing too interesting happened today, so we can get right to the project 🙂

Today’s project is for the The Mojo Monday Week 141 Challenge.  This week we had the option to go with a round or a square sketch, and I just had to do the round layout since I have never done a circle card.  I know….I’m just soooo square….Okay…the joke was corny but what do you expect at 1:30 AM 🙂

Even though this card looks quite clean and simple I actually put a lot of work into it, including heat embossing the background on the paper, and making the flowers.  I just love making my own patterned paper, and embellishments.  I often regret the amount of money I used to spend on store-bought embellishments (stickers, flowers, rub-ons, etc) because they all just sat around and got out-dated.  For whatever reason I always end up making my own embellishments, they just seem to flow better that way, whereas whenever I use stickers or such they always end up looking awkward and out of place….

Project 4 0f 365: Combining Challenges “Mojo Monday 139” and “Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 30”: Gettin’ Dirty May 19, 2010

Hi All,

First of all excuse the long title.  My true title for this project is “Gettin’ Dirty” cus its not a clean one….hehehe.

So, my first non-coerced reader, Rebecca, introduced me to an online paper crafting challenge called “Mojo Monday,” this is where the layout from this design is from.  When I saw the sketch I knew it had potential….and not wanting to copy anyone else this time I ended up just sitting and staring at the layout sketch trying to figure out just where to start.

After awhile I sat it down to get some other work done….In the meantime I ran accross another weekly challenge called “Curtain Call Color Challenge” and from the combination of these two challenges comes my card “Gettin’ Dirty”.  Combining the two challenges really did make it easier to get started….I already knew my basic layout, and I knew what colors I would be using, so now all I had to do was fill in the blanks.

The Color Challenge Colors were: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Kraft, and Pink Pirouette.  Of course I immediately thought how the heck am I going to get this BOLD pumpkin pie to mesh with my more subtle pink, white, and kraft????  Then ding, ding, ding…..this is where the “Gettin’ Dirty” party comes in……DISTRESS the heck out of everything!!!

While I’m not totally in love with the outcome I do appreciate it….This challenge pushed me to use colors together that I normally wouldn’t.  While it’s not likely I will be pairing Pumpkin Pie and Pink Pirouette again in the near future, it does open my eyes to experimenting more with non-traditional color pairing.

Without further ado…….
