Projects 130-132 of 365: Vintage Inspired Jewelry March 16, 2011

I just love the look of vintage costume jewelry, so here are a few designs that I whipped up one afternoon, probably around Christmas time..  I’m not so fond of the bracelet….it came out looking a bit too sloppy, but hey, that doesn’t mean that someone else won’t like it..

 

When my new supplies arrive hopefully I will be able to make some of the bigger, chunkier designs that I drool over at all the stores!!

Projects 127-129: Jade Cluster Necklaces

These next three necklaces were all made with the same basic design, but with different colors of jade gemstones and then different crystal or metal spacer beads.  I especially love the flower toggle clasps used on two of these…It just gives the projects a more vintage feel….

The only downfall to these necklaces is that since these are all gemstone and real crystal they are very heavy, but then again, you won’t have to worry about losing it, because if it fell off you would definitely feel it 🙂

Projects 123-126: The first round of Jewelry projects

I am sure that all of you probably thought I had given up on my mission of 365 projects in 365 days.  After all, I haven’t posted anything since December.  I will admit it hasn’t been easy to find much spare time at all, especially with all the hours I put in at the Mercedes dealership selling cars (or at least attempting to sell cars…lol!).  I have still been creating with basically every spare moment I have.  I have so many projects done and ready to be blogged, I’ll probably end up over the 365 when I get them all up here.  So hang tight, as these next few posts will contain lots of projects and very little chit chat 🙂

 

The projects below are the very earliest of jewelry pieces I made back in October.

Project 111 of 365: My First Bead Weaving Necklace November 23, 2010

Hi All,

As mentioned in an earlier post, I have been making a lot of jewelry the past few weeks.  Probably because it is easier to pack up a small box of beading supplies and work on my lunch hour than it is to try to pull out all the stamping supplies (plus more portable.)

So the necklace below spawned from a necklace I had seen somewhere that cost far too much for me to afford.  What I love about making my own jewelry is that it is not nearly as hard to do as it looks, and since I am broke its the only way I can afford something that looks fabulous.

Once again I took the photo with my iphone in very poor lighting….In person this necklace has a lot of BLING factor to it.  Looks very fancy with those clear glass seed beads reflecting every hint of light.  Sorry that the photo really doesn’t do it much justice.

In this necklace I used mostly natural materials….I used sesame jasper beads, black onyx beads, and dark jade pendant (so this was dyed or color enhanced), glass seed beads, and tibetan silver findings to give it a more vintage look (and not as likely to tarnish as sterling silver.)

Hope you like my divergence from stamping for a while 🙂

Projects 104-110 of 365: Scrabble Tile Necklaces November 19, 2010

Tis true…if you love Stampin Up’s Patterned Paper as much as I do you can wear it!!! 🙂

I’m sure you have all heard or seen this Scrabble tile jewelry trend, so ofcourse I just had to jump on the bandwagon.  And I am so glad I did…..These cute little pendants are so fun and easy to make.  All I did was trim little focal areas out of some of my favorite patterned paper, adhered it to the tile, sanded the edges and sealed it with epoxy resin, attached a jewelry bail (so I could dangle from necklace), and there you have it….I personalized piece of art for your neck or charm bracelet.

I also stamped a small image on one of them….the one with the little vine/leaves was just stamped in Really Rust ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock.

If anyone is interested in purchasing a pendant, necklace, or charm bracelet just let me know….I take custom orders.
