It’s been hard to wait on posting these, but they were ordered as Christmas gifts from a friend at work….so I couldn’t risk ruining the surprise.

Some of these were designed using My Digital Studio images in Photoshop, and others were made from photos supplied by the customer.  I just love how these can be customized for ANYONE or anything. 

Be sure to contact me if you are interested in ordering one….I can literally put just about anything on these tiles.  The price for a tile pendant or charm is $8 (which includes shipping anywhere in U.S.)  If you want it personalized with a name, a specific image or photo the cost is $10 per tile (including shipping anywhere in the U.S.).

It looks like the damask charm might be showing up too dark on some monitors 😦  In person it is a really pretty gray background with a black damsk image in the center….Looks great with any outfit!!

Project 97 of 365: Sanded Candles September 30, 2010

Hi all!

Well, its official….I am returning to my old job selling Mercedes Benz here in Milwaukee.  I know, who woulda thought…this craft loving girl is also obsessed with high-end German cars 🙂  It all started when I was 23 and bought a 2000 BMW 323i.  I remember people thinking I was being impulsive and irresponsible when I bought that car……But I truly wasn’t!!!   I caught all kinds of flack over it, about how I could have gotten a brand new Sunfire or whatever other crappy car for the same price.  I told them that I got a better deal and guaranteed them all that I would have this car far longer than all of my other friends who had recently purchased brand new cars.  I was right!!!!  I drove that car for over 8 years!!  I traded it in last year to get my 2006 Envoy, not because the car was worn out, but because we needed a larger vehicle.  I miss that car every day!!!  In the end I did save more money than all those who thought I was being young and dumb.  In that same time they had all bought at least 2 cars, making my purchase the cheapest of them all!!  When I traded that car in it was still beautiful (except for the few lovely door dings acquired by living in Milwaukee), there wasn’t a blemish in the interior, and it still handled way better than most of the new cars my friends have.  You hit the gas and it really went, you turn the wheel and it turned, and on the highway you never had to turn the radio up to cover up the “road noise”, and my favorite part…..no jiggly sounding loose parts.  So yes, I admit it, I am, and will always be a car snob!!  It has nothing to do with showing off to others, my car was a basic model, and the smallest 4 door car they made.   It is all about the feeling of driving a well built car that I knew wasn’t going to fail me when I needed it most!!

I know….that was a BMW, but I sell Mercedes Benz…..well….. When I applied for the job the first time I thought I would be selling BMW, but alas, they tricked me after getting me excited about selling cars, and then broke it to me I would be selling Mercedes Benz.  I wasn’t too thrilled in the beginning.   I knew nothing about Mercedes Benz, in fact, I thought they were only for elitist jerks who like to prove to their neighbors they make more money.  I was soooooo wrong!!!  And as soon as I pay off my current debt a Mercedes Benz is on the top of my “reward myself” list.  I can honestly say you will not find a higher quality car out there.   You spend more upfront, but if one car lasts you as long as 2 cheaper cars…..then in the end you actually paid less 🙂

Time to get back to the task at hand and get some of this growing pile of finished cards posted for you all…

Project 93 of 365: Spiderwebs and Candles September 26, 2010

Woohoo…..over the past few days I have made sooooo many cards with the new goodies I ordered from the fall catalog!!!  I must have been in the zone.

The first bunch of these cards are all Halloween cards, and I am pretty darn happy with myself for the results.  As mentioned in the previous post I”m not really a Halloween person, but this year I must have caught the spirit.  Maybe it started with that awesome haunted house…

I must confess that since I have not previously made Halloween cards that most of these were at least started/inspired by other cards I have seen on Splitcoast Stampers or the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator only site.  I will give credit where ever necessary 🙂

This first card was inspired by a simple card by someone using the screen name “Speedy Stamper” on Splitcoast Stampers.  The layout is based on her card, but I changed all the colors, distressed the web, added some brads, and then added the “happy halloween” greeting.

Projects 46-50 of 365: Creating with Artistic Etchings July 9, 2010

I’m Back!!! 🙂

First off, all I can say is my grandmother is one tough cookie.  She is somehow still ticking, but it won’t be long….now it will be a blessing when she goes, as even with all the pain medication you can still see that she is in absolute agony.  I now pray each day that “God” will help her find the peace she needs.  Thank you to everyone for the emails, texts, and phone calls of support.  It has meant so much to me.  It has been hard to deal with the double sorrow of the situation…sadness that she will soon be gone, and very sorry for the pain that she is somehow enduring.  The hardest part is seeing her in such pain and wishing, with all my heart, there was something I could do to take the pain away.

So please forgive me but this post will be a quick one.  I will be simply posting the projects, photos, and supplies (no fun chit chat today…)

39 of 365: Monotone Bloomin’ Beautiful June 29, 2010

I’m back…the second card in my tribute to the retiring Bloomin’ Beautiful set is this monotone card with a splash of melon mambo.  I really love the look of these black and white cards that just use color to frame or pop the project.  My little twist on this one is that I used basic gray and white instead of the full out black and white.  Once again I also highlighted one of the blooms with the Crystal Effects.

Project 32 of 365: Father’s Day Suit June 17, 2010

The other day I was searching all over to find a tutorial on those oh-so-cute shirt and tie cards when I ran across something even better…A tutorial for a card front that looks like a suit.  It is PERFECT for Father’s day!  I made this one for my Father- In-Law (still trying to come up with a card for my dad).

In this card I also incorporated the colors from the Curtain Call Color Challenge Act 34.  (Can you believe that Dusty Durango and Rich Razzleberry look good together??!!)

I think this turned out just perfect.  While my father-in-law dresses nice he is not a “formal” guy, so this more casual card, with the off-beat colors is such a better fit!  I’m really liking this one and I am likely to make more “suit” cards in the future.
